The Liberal Arts program provides a broad foundation across disciplines that we believe is essential for the holistic development of a student in today’s dynamic world. Our program is structured to help students develop a well-rounded personality, strong academic skills, and the ability to apply knowledge for both personal development and career enhancement through critical thinking, research skills, ethics and integrity. While our core courses are grounded in the Humanities and the Social Sciences, we also believe in enhancing scientific values and thinking in our students

The program at JDSoLA, NMIMS, helped me in recognizing my interests clearly and cleared my doubts about pursuing further education and a career in the visual effects industry. It taught me effective time management and broadened my outlook, which is helping me interact and work with talented individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. As a technical artist, I often end up working with complex programs, processes that can be simplified as "painting with code", something that requires a smooth balance of creative skills and analytical skills.
(Batch of 2016-19)
I arrived at JDSoLA with highly rigid ideas of what the world was, and what my place in it would be. It didn't take long for those ideas to be dismantled and be replaced with empathy, broad-minded thinking and the kind of intellectual humility you learn only from the best faculty. The philosophy of approaching each problem and situation with multiple different lenses is one I use every single day at work. Liberal arts isn't just for university classrooms, it's a mindset that empowered me to learn faster, research everything first and be sensitive to factors people normally didn't consider. Rapid career growth is a nice side effect. The real reward is a network of highly sensitive peers and a flexible, ever-expanding view of the world. Now, I work as a brand consultant: a profession that needs constant learning, unlearning and relearning.
Lucky for me, I learned how to learn at JDSOLA
